Kalypso Media’s “Digital First” Label Kasedo Games has landed a real hit on PC with the launch of Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus, released last week on Steam. The turn-based strategy game is currently the top-rated Warhammer 40K game on Steam with 89% positive reviews. The indie game has already achieved very strong sales in a short time, standing out from the crowd ahead of the Christmas period where traditionally the big AAA titles dominate the PC market.
Reviews on Steam to date have been overflowing with praise, highlighting developer Bulkwark Studios and Kasedo Games’ respect and love of the source material and the finely-honed tactical gameplay, which was made possible through the support of renowned Warhammer 40K author Ben Counter, whose help was instrumental in achieving the necessary level of authenticity and atmosphere in the game.
“Following on from Project Highrise and Rise of Industry, Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus is the third big success story for our digital first label Kasedo Games, and I would like to express my heartfelt congratulations to Jonathan Hales and his team on this great achievement!” comments Simon Hellwig, founder and Global Managing Director of Kalypso Media Group GmbH, of which the Kasedo Games label is 100% owned. “With Kasedo Games, we are very successfully complementing Kalypso Media’s portfolio with high-end indie titles in the mid-price sector.”
