As recently announced, we will travel through time in the coming weeks and months, highlighting outstanding moments from the last 15 years of Kalypso. We kick things off today with a recent milestone from 2020.
April isn’t quite over and we have yet another birthday to celebrate before the month draws to a close. In addition to 20 years of Tropico and 15 years of Kalypso Media, we can’t miss Claymore Game Studios’ one year anniversary! Our third internal studio was founded one year ago on April 2nd in Darmstadt, Germany and ever since, has been working hard on the next Commandos game. The title is coming along nicely and the structural setup of development, as well as the prototype phase for the game, have been successfully completed.
Claymore Game Studios Director Jürgen Reußwig quickly built up his core team throughout 2020 and in 2021, the studio now employs 21 people. However, this isn’t the end of the growth and Claymore is still on the hunt for talented programmers – mainly those experienced in Unreal Engine – and QA managers, to support in the development of the new Commandos. Keep an eye on our job portal to see if you might be a good fit.
“The first year of Claymore Game Studios’ life flew by, and looking back, we also achieved a lot this year. We are very happy that despite the pandemic, we managed not only to recruit the necessary employees but also establish a nurturing and cooperative company culture and team with a personal connection to the Commandos brand,” says Jürgen Reußwig. “Another important milestone is the pledge of games funding from the federal government, which means we can now fully concentrate on the production of our Commandos.”
